100 Women Downingtown Brings Local Women Together to Support Community Nonprofits

Sep 22, 2026 | Uncategorized

In the Downingtown community, making a difference does not always require a large organization or a complicated fundraising campaign. 100 Women Downingtown brings local women together through collective giving, creating an opportunity to support nonprofits that are making an impact throughout the area.

The organization meets twice a year, giving members the chance to learn more about local nonprofit organizations and the work they are doing in the community. At each meeting, three nonprofits are selected to present their missions, programs, and community needs. Members then vote on which organization will receive the group’s collective donation.

Each member contributes $100, allowing individual gifts to come together as a larger contribution to a local nonprofit.

100 Women Downingtown describes its mission as, “To join together in support of local charities through collective giving in order to have a meaningful and positive impact on our community.”

The organization’s local focus is central to its work. Participating nonprofits must be 501(c)(3) organizations that are located in, and provide services to, the local community. Members can also nominate nonprofits they believe deserve an opportunity to share their work with the group.

For local nonprofits, the organization offers more than the possibility of receiving a financial contribution. Presenting at a meeting gives organizations an opportunity to introduce their mission to community members, share the needs they are addressing, and build relationships with potential supporters.

The organization’s website features testimonials from nonprofits that have participated in its meetings, highlighting the broader connections that can come from being involved. Organizations have reported gaining new supporters, volunteers, community awareness, and funding through their experiences with 100 Women Downingtown.

One recent recipient was A Haven, which was selected in March 2026. Based in Chester County, A Haven provides grief support, outreach, education, and resources for grieving children, young adults, and their caregivers.

Through its collective giving model, 100 Women Downingtown provides a way for local women to learn about organizations serving their community while making their individual contributions go further. The twice-yearly meetings also create a regular opportunity for members to connect with one another and discover new ways to become involved locally.

For women interested in learning more about the organization, 100 Women Downingtown’s website includes information about membership, upcoming meetings, nonprofit nominations, and the organization’s giving process.
