Brandywine Valley Active Aging Expansion: New Downingtown Campus and Aging Elevated InitiativeBrandywine Valley Active Aging (BVAA) is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking campaign, AGING ELEVATED: The Next Generation, along with the introduction of its upcoming Downingtown Campus, which will be located at 55 Country Club Drive, Downingtown, PA 19335.

This property, a lasting example of the remarkable work of the late Jack Loew, provides a distinctive and scenic environment. Overlooking the picturesque Downingtown Country Club, this next-generation center represents more than just a fundraising effort for a new facility — it’s about dismantling outdated perceptions of what aging should look like.

Created to address the changing needs of older adults, the new campus will allow BVAA to broaden its impact and reach through forward-thinking programs, inclusive spaces, and services centered on dignity, connection, and wellness.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Loew family for collaborating with us to seize this extraordinary opportunity,” said Nick Hoffman, President of the Board of Directors at Brandywine Valley Active Aging. “Surrounded by natural beauty and designed with a warm, inviting aesthetic, this campus is more than a building – it represents the future we’re striving to create.”

The $2.5 million capital campaign is launching with $500,000 already secured, thanks to early contributors and a pivotal investment from the Chester County Department of Community Development, which funded the property acquisition.

“Aging Elevated isn’t just another capital project aimed at increasing space,” said Bill Pierce, Executive Director of Brandywine Valley Active Aging. “It’s a mission-driven initiative that allows us to redefine what aging looks like, feels like, and truly means within our community.”

In 2020, the Downingtown Area Senior Center and the Coatesville Area Senior Center officially merged to form Brandywine Valley Active Aging. Officially launched in January 2021, the organization now supports over 2,100 individuals each year, delivering more than 65,000 chef-prepared, nutritious noon meals, helping older adults connect with essential community resources, ensuring housing stability and offering homeless case management, as well as providing a wide array of programs and classes to engage the body, mind, and spirit.

Brandywine Valley Active Aging encourages community members, businesses, and philanthropic partners to join in and help bring the Aging Elevated vision to reality.
