Get ready to add a splash of creativity and fun to your summer with the 2025 Summer Reading Program, which is open to readers of all ages! Hosted by Downingtown Library, this year’s theme, Color Our World, invites everyone from preschoolers to adults to explore the joy of reading and artistic expression.
Mark your calendars for Kick-Off Day on Saturday, June 7th, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Registration will take place at the Summer Reading Table next to the children’s section, where friendly teen volunteers will help sign up participants for the preschool through teen programs. Upon registration, each reader will receive a special folder containing a paper “wallet” to personalize. Cut, color, and decorate it your way! Craft supplies will be available all day in the program room.
Adults can join the fun too through the Adult Summer Reading Program on Beanstack. For those who aren’t familiar with the program, pick up a step-by-step instruction sheet at the library to get started.
The fun doesn’t stop at reading. Visit the library’s event calendar to discover a wide range of exciting programs planned throughout June. From drop-in events to sessions that require advance registration, there’s something for everyone. Program registration opens two weeks before each scheduled event, so check back often!
The July calendar is coming soon, packed with even more engaging activities. Whether you’re reading your way through the summer or diving into crafts and events, there’s no better time to visit the library and color your world with imagination and community spirit!
