Communities That Care of Greater Downingtown is thrilled to announce their 5th Annual Youth Video Contest! The contest is focused on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) prevention and mental health.
The contest is open for all 7th – 12th graders who reside in the Downingtown Area School District. The 2025 theme is “A Teen in Today’s World.”
Youth who wish to enter into the video contest will produce a short video, sharing information they’d like the adult in their life to understand what it’s like to be a teen today. The information should center on ATOD use, mental health, or student/school life.
According to the CTC website: “The Downingtown Area School District Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) data supports this statement as 88.8% of DASD youth said that they had not used alcohol in the past 30 days and 94.1% said that they had not used marijuana in the past 30 days (PAYS 2023).”
Communities That Care will award prizes to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with cash prizes ranging from $250, $200, $150, respectively.. The organization is also excited to say that they will be giving the 1st place winner four tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies home game. The game is Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 6:45 PM against the Washington Nationals.
The contest submission deadline is Friday, April 11. It can be sent to dtownctc@gmail.com.
