Maclane’s Automotive, a locally owned and operated auto repair company that got its start right here in Downingtown, has officially opened its third location; this time in Malvern. The expansion marks 10 years of steady growth for a business that began as a small three-bay shop and has since become a trusted name across Chester County.
Founded in 2016 by Maclane Reeser, Maclane’s Automotive quickly built a loyal customer base in Downingtown through a combination of high-quality work and a strong focus on relationships. As demand increased, the company expanded to a second Downingtown location on Horseshoe Pike in 2020.
In 2025, the business made another significant investment in Downingtown by relocating its original shop to a fully renovated, eight-bay facility on Lincoln Highway. The project, led by Reeser and his partner, Nicole Mieloch, reflected a continued commitment to growing within the community, not just beyond it.
Now, that Downingtown foundation is supporting expansion into neighboring Malvern. The new location, formerly ASM Auto, was acquired in December 2025 and soft-opened under the Maclane’s Automotive name on March 2, 2026. A grand opening ribbon cutting is scheduled for May 1, followed by a 10-year anniversary open house celebration.
“I’ve always believed that if you’re not growing, you’re dying,” Reeser said in a 2024 industry profile — a mindset that continues to shape the company’s trajectory.
Still, growth hasn’t meant losing sight of where it all started.
“Malvern was a natural next step for us,” says Reeser. “It allows us to expand our customer base without getting too far from our core market.”
That core market remains Downingtown, where many customers have been with the business since its earliest days. The Malvern expansion is less about moving on and more about bringing the same trusted service to nearby communities.
“ASM Auto earned trust the right way, and we’re excited to build on that in Malvern,” Reeser adds. “We bring honest service, high workmanship standards, and real care for our clients.”
The Malvern shop has been fully renovated and rebranded, aligning with the systems and service standards customers have come to expect from Maclane’s Automotive. Maintaining a consistent experience across all locations remains a top priority.
“I want somebody to go to a Maclane’s Automotive and, no matter where it is, have the same experience — the same level of care and trust,” says Reeser.
As a family-owned business, the company places equal emphasis on its team and its customers. Over the past year, Maclane’s Automotive has grown from approximately 12 employees to 23, reflecting both its physical expansion and its investment in people.
“The past year has been a whirlwind,” says Mieloch. “We closed on the Malvern location in December, got married a week later, and immediately jumped into renovations. It’s been a lot, but incredibly rewarding to see everything come together.”
As Maclane’s Automotive celebrates its 10-year anniversary, this latest expansion serves as a reminder of what can grow from Downingtown’s strong local foundation. See more at https://maclanesauto.com/.
