The Downingtown Library is calling on community members to declutter their shelves and support a great cause through its annual Friends of the Library Fall Used Book Sale Drive, running now through October 11.
Residents are encouraged to donate gently used books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and games to help stock the shelves for one of the library’s most anticipated fundraising events of the year. Donations can be brought directly into the library during regular hours. Items should not be placed in the outdoor drop boxes or left outside the building.
Library staff is available to assist with bringing donations inside for those who need help unloading.
To ensure quality offerings at the sale, the library asks donors to avoid bringing moldy or torn books, textbooks, or vinyl records, which will not be accepted.
The donation drive sets the stage for the Fall Book Sale, opening to the public on Friday, October 17 at 4:00 PM. Book lovers can look forward to browsing a wide selection of affordable, “new-to-you” reads and media items with all proceeds directly benefiting the Downingtown Library’s programs and services.
Whether donating or shopping, this fall event is a great opportunity for the community to support local literacy while finding hidden treasures at unbeatable prices.
A full schedule of the book sale hours is available on the library’s website.
