West Bradford Township is bringing back their popular (and free!) Yoga in the Park series. These relaxing and rejuvenating events will be held every Wednesday, from May 28 to August 27 at Shadyside Park. Every yoga session will begin at 7:30 PM, as the blazing sun dims slightly to provide the perfect spring and summer weather.
Yoga is an extremely beneficial way to move your body and stay active. It’s low impact, therefore it won’t put strain on your joints and is a fairly accessible form of exercise.
Benefits of Yoga
- Yoga improves flexibility, strength, and balance by slowly moving and stretching your body. This motion, combined with deep breathing techniques allows your body is relax, your blood flow to increase, and your muscle to warm up, thus increasing your body’s strength.
- Yoga relieves pain, including achy joints and tight muscles. It’s not only a beneficial exercise for your body, it’s therapy for your bones and muscles as well.
- With the calm and relaxing environment that accompanies yoga practices, it has the ability to reduce stress and inflammation levels, which keeps your heart healthy.
- Along with stress relief comes better sleep and more energy. With your muscles free from tension, it’s much easier to sink into slumber. When we get better quality sleep, we can start each day off on the right foot.
