The Campus Chester County, located on Lincoln Highway in Downingtown, is getting ready to launch their Learn to Skate program this year.
Do you have a child or teen that would love to try out a new activity? The Learn to Skate program is the first step for those interested in becoming figure skaters, hockey players, or for kids who just want to have fun.
The Campus Chester County’s skate course follows the LTS USA curriculum, which supports beginner skaters who are learning how to transition to hockey or figure skating. Learn to Skate is open for individuals 3 – 18 years old.
There are two available days and times for the Learn to Skate Program. Both run for six weeks.
Thursdays| 2/27 – 4/3 | 6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. | 45-minute classes
Saturdays | 3/8 – 4/12 | 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | 45-minute classes
Registration is a two-step process. First, skaters must register with Learn to Skate USA for $16 before selecting one of the above sessions here.
The Campus Chester County has a few tips for preparing for class. Note that rental skates are provided and included in the cost of class.
- All beginner skaters are required to wear a helmet.
- Wear comfortable clothing and jackets. Young skaters are encouraged to wear snow pants.
- Bring gloves or mittens to stay warm on the ice!
- Lightweight or thin socks are best for wearing skates.
