Spice lovers, mark your calendars. Pepper Palooza is heating up Kerr Park on Saturday, September 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as the Downingtown Farmers Market hosts a special event celebrating peak pepper season.
With over 30 local farmers and makers expected, Pepper Palooza is set to highlight the region’s seasonal bounty, featuring fresh local varieties including bell, poblano, jalapeño, shishito and more. Visitors can meet the farmers behind the produce and stock up on peak-season peppers straight from the source.
The day will also include a full lineup of food, fun and family-friendly programming. A “Produce Showdown” at the Growing Roots tent invites guests to take part in a free blind taste test comparing grocery store peppers to farm-fresh sweet peppers.
Families can enjoy a range of free kids activities including yoga, games, and crafts hosted by local organizations like AgConnect, KidStrong West Chester, Young Rembrandts Chester County PA, and The Crafty Chef Academy.
For those coming hungry, Good Girls on the Go will be serving breakfast sammies featuring their signature pepper jam. Other market favorites include hot patelitos from Diamond Eats, craft coffee from Mayday Coffee & Shop, and fresh-pressed juices from Kind Juice Bar. Live music will be provided by the CPFA Jazz Mavericks throughout the morning.
The Downingtown Farmers Market is located at the gazebo in Kerr Park, 28 E. Pennsylvania Avenue. Entry is free and all ages are welcome.
