While we may still be bundling up with hats and scarves before heading outside, Downingtown Area Recreation Consortium (DARC) is looking ahead to summer.
Summer officially starts at DARC – Downingtown’s go-to place for all local activities, camps, and programs. Downingtown Area Recreation Consortium has an extensive activity registration system, streamlining the process for parents. Those interested are able to create an account with DARC, fill in household information such as medical information and emergency contacts, and easily register for events and programs.
Recently, DARC has released their 2025 Summer Camp options and it is full of fun! The various camps are available for ages 3-14. Both half-day and full-day options are offered, depending on the program.
There are so many camps to pick from, providing your children with the opportunity to find new hobbies and practice their old ones. Activities include playground camps, art camps, theater camps, yoga camps, science camps, and more!
The Elementary and Middle School Adventure Camps send children on a unique trip every day! Attractions include museums, the zoo, sporting events, and the pool.
DARC’s playground camps are available for children age 3-11 and focus on weekly themes. This half-day camp is held all summer, but parents can select any number of weeks to send their child.
Specialty summer camps include acro tumbling, ballet, cooking, basketball, intro to film and acting, photography, tennis, and more. Specialty camps run on a weekly basis.
More information on DARC’s summer programs can be found here.

Speaking of warmer weather, check out some upcoming seasonal fruit and veggies at the Downingtown Farmers Market.
