The Borough’s Friendsgiving Comedy Show

Nov 3, 2025 | 19335, Downtown, Events

Looking for laughs this holiday season? Come out to The Borough’s first annual Friendsgiving Comedy Show for an evening of joy, food, and good vibes before the holiday craze kicks off.

Hosted by Anissa “Ms. Darkchild” Bane, the event features some amazing comedians in one of Downingtown’s coolest new restaurants. The Borough Downingtown held its grand opening and ribbon cutting just a few weeks ago and is already a local success.

The Friendsgiving Comedy Show is proud to announce it’s starring Frank Vignola and featuring Ashley Pontius and Boogie Jackson.

Frank is a Delaware native who got his start in the business at Candlelight Dinner Theater doing productions of “Camelot” and “Fiddler on the Roof” under the direction of the late great Julian Borris the summer between his senior year at Christina High School and his freshman year at the University of Delaware. “If memory serves we got five dollars a show for being in the chorus but the big money was in waiting tables in costume.” After college Frank moved to NYC and has been a transplanted New Yorker ever since.

In a world of politically correct comics who will give you their Theatre Wing answers as to why they became a comedian Frank prefers the sensibility of Robert Mitchum’s “I became an actor because I didn’t want to work for a living”.

Besides appearances on Comedy Central, Amazon Prime and SiriusXM radio, Mr. Vignola has also performed at Montreal’s prestigious “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival and toured the Middle East with Armed Forces Entertainment. Frank’s acting credits include the film roles of “Eddie” in “Tilting at Windmills” (International Film Festival Manhattan), “Mr. Leibowitz” in “Game Night” (Amazon Prime) and voicing the character of “Dr. Robert” in the animated television pilot “Ben v World”. And as a teacher he has taught stand-up at some of Manhattan’s finest comedy clubs (including StandUpNY, The Laugh Lounge and Broadway Comedy Club) in addition to mentoring and private coaching 2 decades worth of aspiring comedians.

Ashley was born and raised in Maryland before crossing the border into Pennsylvania to find a better life for her two cats (spoiler: she didn’t find it.) Ashley got her start in comedy in 2010, writing jokes for comedians twice her age. She would later go on to perform at the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts, The Laugh Factory in Chicago, The Funnybone (OH), and many more clubs across the country. Ashley was a 2019 Finalist for Comedian of the Year at Magooby’s Joke House in Timonium, MD.

Toogie Jackson is a regular at world famous comedy spots The Laugh Factory, The Improv, and Ice House.
