Cherry, heirloom, slicing… oh my! Celebrate peak tomato season with Downingtown Farmers Market at Tomato Fest on August 9 from 9 AM – 1 PM. Held on the grounds of Kerr Park, this festival is special celebration that is fun for the whole family!
Tomatoes and all of their varieties are at their best during the summer season; you’re sure to find the plumpest, juiciest selections at this local market. While you’re stocking up on tomatoes and meeting with the farmers that grew them, there’s even more activities to get excited about!
Tomato Fest will feature over 30 vendors and makers, as well as a special Produce Showdown where you’ll put your tastebuds to the test to determine if you can tell the difference between grocery store and farmers market cherry tomatoes.
But that’s not all!
The event will also feature free yoga sessions and fitness classes, held by FIT4MOM Downingtown Exton & West Chester. Kids can enjoy a variety of lively crafts and games, hosted by KidStrong West Chester, Young Rembrants of Chester County, and United Sports.
It wouldn’t be a farmers market without food! Stop by for a Good Girls Bakery breakfast sandwich, highlighting the star of the show – tomatoes! Warm donuts, ice-cold lemonade, and fresh-pressed juices will also be available.
