What began as a mother’s joy in decorating her children’s birthdays has blossomed into one of Downingtown’s most inspiring small businesses. Wildflower Balloons, founded by Felicia Ambrosine-Allen, has quickly grown into a community favorite known not just for its vibrant balloon displays, but for its mission of kindness.
“My passion for Wildflower Balloons began long before the business itself ever existed,” Ambrosine-Allen shared. “It grew from the joy of celebrating each of my children’s birthdays, creating moments that made them feel truly special.” That joy, she explained, “sparked a deep love for celebrating life’s meaningful moments.”
Wildflower Balloons officially took flight in 2023 and became a fully established business in 2024. Ambrosine-Allen, who has lived in Downingtown since 2012, describes the town as the true heart of her journey. “Every moment here has been a gift,” she said. “This town, with its warmth, charm, and incredible community, has truly captured my heart.”
Kindness at its Core
At the center of Wildflower Balloons is a mission that goes far beyond event décor. “Our mission is to spread kindness, art, and compassion throughout our community,” Ambrosine-Allen explained. “We believe in using our gifts to create joy, inspire others, and celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.”
She pours her heart into each project. “Knowing that my work can spark a smile or create a lasting memory fills me with purpose,” she said. “Giving back whenever I can isn’t just something I do… it’s a true calling.”
That calling inspired one of Ambrosine-Allen’s most impactful initiatives: the Wildflower Balloons Birthday Club, created for local families experiencing financial hardship. “The Birthday Club began in May as a simple idea: one donation a month to bring joy to a family,” she said. What started small quickly grew as other local businesses reached out to help.
Today, the Birthday Club provides families with balloon displays, custom desserts, décor, gifts, and more; all confidentially. “We are grateful to have the support of these incredible local businesses,” she said. “Together, we are not just celebrating birthdays. We are spreading compassion, kindness, and joy to families in our community.”
She added, “85% of our balloon displays we are able to donate when families do not want to keep them. And keep passing the joy in our community.”
Event Décor for Every Occasion
Wildflower Balloons offers custom décor for any celebration. “We offer a wide range of services to make your events unforgettable,” Ambrosine-Allen explained. This includes “stunning balloon garlands and arches, full balloon displays and centerpieces,” along with custom backdrops that elevate any theme.
Their offerings are designed to fit all budgets. “We take pride in creating options that are both beautiful and customizable,” she said. A top choice among clients is the 6-foot backdrop package, which she describes as “a custom decal and eight feet of balloons.” For smaller celebrations, she added, “Our mini stacks are another favorite. They stand 4-feet tall and come with a Mylar number and a themed Mylar balloon.”
From first birthdays and bridal showers to mitzvahs, grand openings, and anniversaries, Ambrosine-Allen said her goal is always the same: “Life is a beautiful journey, and we’re here to help you cherish and celebrate it every step of the way.”
Wildflower Balloons travels to homes, venues, parks, and anywhere celebrations take place. As Ambrosine-Allen put it simply: “Wherever the celebration is, we will be there.”
Community-Centered, Client-Focused
For Ambrosine-Allen, the most meaningful part of her work is the trust clients place in her. “I love that people trust me with something so special — the people they love or an event that’s important to them,” she said. “I don’t take that lightly.”
She prioritizes clear communication and transparency. “I put myself in their shoes and make everything very visual,” she explained. “I’m upfront about pricing and details so there are no unexpected surprises. I handle everything the way I would want it done for myself.”
Downingtown’s community spirit continues to fuel her passion. “The residents here consistently support local businesses, and I’ve witnessed it firsthand,” she said. “Being able to be part of that energy and support is a wonderful experience.”
Her family enjoys supporting local favorites, too. “We enjoy these local spots, like Lione’s Pizza, Evergreen, The Farmhouse, and La Sponda,” she shared.
As Wildflower Balloons continues to grow, so does its impact on the Downingtown community. Through colorful displays, hands-on support for families, and deep involvement in local initiatives, Wildflower Balloons has become more than an event décor company.
It’s a source of pure joy for Downingtown.
